Will Flowmaster 40 be the loudest

I dont want to start another debate, I am simply looking for two or three opinions. I want LOUD thats all I dont want to lose MPG either. I am hoping to only put on a new muffler and tips, no catback. Do you think the 40 series is the best way to go? Will this be a huge differrence?

I just talked to a local guy here in Cleveland who said $399 for the Flowmaster and $250 for glass pack made by Super Cees (sp?) both with a read dual out. Anyone ever heard of that second one? Any thoughts would be greatly appericiated.

Yeah the 40 series is pretty loud, but if u want it even louder then check out the Imco extreme muffler, www.grabthepower.com I ordered one for my 97 w/ 4.6 and 5spd and i am just waiting till it gets a little warmer here before it throw it on. Ive heard the Imco on my friends f-150 with the 4.6 and its the loudest thing around. The case is only 6 inches and it roars, i cant wait till i throw it on. It also depends on what motor you have too, the 4.6's are louder than the 5.4's. Hope that helps.

Just FYI, IMCO extreme is the same thing as the Flowmast 1-chamber race muffler.

How much should I expect to pay for a SI/DO muffler and pipes for the flow 40 or the imco extreme?

If you want loud try the Banks Monster cat-back. Great fit and tough as nails. It has a 5" tip and will let the neighbors know when you leave for work in the morning.

I have the flowmaster 40 series si/do cut off at the muffler and it is really load I wake up the neighbors when I come in from work at 2 in the morning but I have heard loader trucks around here but I think a lot of them just have straight pipe. I would not suggest glass packs over flowmaster ever, not even to a person I hated. I am getting very poor gas mileage but I think that has a lot to due with my exauhst being so short I am going to get it taken out the rear with 4 inch tips and see if that helps I was told it would by a local tech. Also what year is your truck and did you buy it new if it is very old or has a lot of miles the Ford dealer here suggesteds that I have my computer recalibrated since I bought it used then the trucks shift patterns will be more fit to the way I drive. Anyone have any thoughts about that by the way I have the 4.6 and get about 11 mpg with 285 75 16 mud rovers
