01 F-150 triton anti-theft issue

my F-150 has factory anti-theft installed, my key is oem w/out the electronic auto-lock functions, but has the built in fob attached to the handle side of the cut side, w/no other keys attached....truck used to start & run w/ no problems, then recently the anti-theft dash light would flash & truck wouldn't start, but several attempts at on/off would remedy the trouble....now after parking overnight, I get the dash anti-theft light again & no amount of jiggling, on-start-off, lock-unlock doors etc has worked...i live on an island that has no dealerships & have no manual....please help...thanks in advance...Todd

You might need a new key. The transponder might be damaged.

What does the odometer do when the key is turned from OFF to RUN?

reply to SHO89

sorry still unfamiliar with the formatting of replies.....thanks for the tip .....the dash lights up, all gauges activate, but not no odometer lights or response...could this be as simple as a fuse issue ?....also tried your link for the owners manual...none available was the response.

If the odometer does NOT behave normally, that means the PCM and the cluster did not power up properly and the PATS verification is doomed to fail.

projectSHO89 is correct. If they don't power up correctly, PATS isn't going to work right.

By chance, have you had your battery load tested or replaced recently?

thanks guys, I haven't touched a thing....had intermittent starting problems twice recently, but with some jiggling & cuss words it started...this time after parking overnight it won't start at all...there are no Ford authorized dealers on my island only gas station mechanics....BTW the 30 amp associated fuse is good....is there device available online that I could buy & repair as a DIY ?, would ordering a set of new keys help ?

Put the juggling and cussing aside. Go and LOOK at the odometer display and report what is does when the key is turned to RUN.

STAY FOCUSED. Do not wander off in the weeds since you do not know what you're doing.

Okay, there is no lighting up of the odometer, all the other functions work as they should....if it can't be fixed in my location is there a way to bypass ?

You're going to have to fix the "odometer blackout" issue first. https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...er-repair.html

Aloha!

You must be on either Molokai or Lanai?

Well, when you said "Mahalo" I knew you were in Hawaii, and those are the only 2 driveable islands without a Ford dealer.
