Troubleshoot and testing parts for Dual Climate Seat Module

2010 F150 Lariat supercrew with approx. 66,000 miles.

I have given this truck to my son who has been driving it for 2 years. One problem that I have been putting off is the drivers only heated and cooled seat have been intermittent recently.

Looking through old threads I now need some advice on which part to start at.
Is there a way to test the Dual Climate Seat Module without special tools?
Is there a way to test the T.E.D without special tools?

Thanks

I can't answer your questions directly but anytime that there's an intermittent electrical problem my money would on that there is a loose connection or a chaffed wire somewhere in the system. The FIRST time that you need to do is to get a REAL electrical service manual or a complete copy of the diagram of the electrical system. OR you can just do what the monkeys in the stealerships do and throw parts at it until it starts working again.

When I did the search I came up with no one who had troubleshot the actual unit. Most of the fix was just to replace the part. The symptoms I am having are very similar to the others.
Before I just order a part it would be helpful to know that it is the issue and will fix the problem.

No loose connections were found and the wiring visually looks in good condition.
