Cruise Control don't work

Hey everyone. New to this page here. But I have a 2002 f150 xlt. The cruise control hasn't worked since I got the truck but the recall has been taken care of. There's no fluid in the switch and I've replaced it myself just to make sure. 3rd brake light was out and I replaced that. Now my cruise control buttons light up but the cruise still does not work. I've tried the "test mode" but it does nothing. My horn works. I've checked fuses so would it be just the buttons are messed up and they need to be replaced? Or is there something else hiding???

You need to follow the diagnostic procedure in the manual. I think there is a link on this site for a manual. Or google. You might be able to download one for free.

Ok thanks I'll look into. I'm not good with electricity and wire diagrams I'm just winging this actually. I've read where everyone has replaced this or that and it fixed there problem. But no one has had to replace the switches on the steering wheel. I've replaced all the cheap stuff first hoping for the best just hoping to get another answer before I drop 150$ on these buttons

The inline fuse in the recall harness may be blown.

Same issues with my 04 and still haven't figured it out. I'm about to switch out the recall harness and see if that fixes it.

Had a similar problem when replacing the CC buttons on my 99 Lightning. But on mine the horn was honking constantly after reconnecting the battery. Anyway, my problem was that the connector that goes on the button was connected the wrong way. So if you did take these connectors off, you may want try that.

Hope you find your problem.

I pulled the computer off the side of the lol cruise control motor (don't know what it's called). And the board looked like some of it was burnt and miss colored compared to the rest. Went to lkq pulled the part and the computer looks good no miss coloring so I'm hoping this is gonna be the fix
