Key fob won't unlock truck
 

I have a 2002 supercrew and my key fob(both of them) will lock my truck but will not unlock it. Even the horn button will work. I have tried the reprogram thing but it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

Will the truck unlock with both power door lock buttons ?

Check with Advance auto parts. They have a machine can check it. You just take your key fob in at the machine and it the button and it will tell you if the fob working. My girlfriends car trunk works the the doors doesn't so we took it to advance and the door part doesn't work, so we know it not the car.

Neither key fobs will unlock the doors, just lock them.

Yes. Everything in the truck works. Just not the unlock on the key fobs.

** If this is the factory RKE :

I would take a swag that the unlock button on both remotes is the cause.

If you know someone with a Ford, that has working remotes, you can try programming their remote to your truck and test or jump in and get a new RKE fob.

The 2002, the lock actuator is connected to the CSM ( Central Security Module ) as are the door lock / unlock buttons.

If the door lock / unlock buttons unlock the door, this shows the CSM & Actuators are fine, which leaves the remote in the chain as the problem.
