Coil pack 2005 5.4 Triton

Had a couple codes today 0172 and 0304, Ive cleaned the MAF and my K&N Filter and it's still missing. Anyhoo I swapped number 2 and 4 coil packs got tightened down and all but cant get the electric plugs to go back on; question, can I lubricate the plugs to get them to push back down all the way?

Thanks all!

Okay after man'in up I got them to plug back in/down. Good news is no more miss/no more codes after swapping the 2 and 4 coil pack right? Trust me I'm happy about that, but what would make the miss go away as I didn't replace either coil pack with a new one?

Any thoughts?

How many miles on your spark plugs?

Less then 10,000. I had them replaced last year.

Thanks,

Could have been light corrosion and the act of swapping them back and forth cleaned up the connection.

As for lubing the plugs for easier coil install, try silicone di-electric grease, it'll lubricate the boot and also prevent corrosion and moisture intrusion in the future.

I'm thinking this is very possible because the misfire has returned in cylinder 4, either I have a bad plug or boot, or the front 02 censor is/has going bad.
