Remote starter won't, but key will...grrrrr
 

I searched the forums but was unable to find a thread with my specific problem.

2002 S-Crew with Ford Remote Starter (not sure if Bronze,Silver,etc)

Push the button on the remote, and the truck goes through it's normal procedures (doors lock, horn chirps,dash lights illuminate, etc), starter turns over but won't engage. a little red bulb on dash blinks. When I push the remote starter button again (as if to turn off the remote start)and the little red light goes out.

Key in the ignition and the truck starts normally.

Truck battery replaced late last year and the remote starter worked fine over winter. I'll try replacing the battery in the remote, but if it's activating the sensor it the truck, I'd assume it's working?

I'd appreciate any help or advice. I really don't want to take my truck to the dealer at almost $100 an hour. :eek:
