Swapped Instrument Cluster Doesn't Work

here is my question i have a 97 f-150 and the insturment cluster does not work except the the tach when you first turn it onthe tach will work for a few seconds then nothing also put another cluster in it also does not work also put my cluster in another truck and it works thank you frank

I've moved your post to it's own thread. It really had nothing to do with the one it was in.

What year truck did the instrument cluster come out of?

With the cluster not working, did you check the 3 fuses for it ?
CJB - 29
CJB - 2
CJB - 19

When you turn the key from off to run, do any of the indicator lamps illuminate ?
