wipers don't work on high..
I thought that my wipers in my truck just sucked until recently. They just don't go fast enough to clear the windshield when it's pouring outside.
Anyway, much to my dismay, my wife finds the problem before I do. :) She realises that there's no difference in the last two settings on the switch. The last two are supposed to be "low" (or "med" I guess) then "high". Well, "high" is the exact same speed as the one below it. We tried wiggling the switch, whacking it, etc. It feels like it's going into high for real, and everything seems well. I can't find any blown fuses or anything. Anyone have any ideas on what would cause this? Is there a relay or something that controls the wipers? There have been a lot of problems with the Multi Function Switch
on Ford's in general. Many have been relpaced under warranty. Personally, mine has a little ghost in it:) The wiper blades speed up and slow down when on delay and from time to time, when I make a sharp right turn, they'll come on once and turn off. First couple of times it freaked me out. Now I just smile & wait to see if they come on:) If you replace it yourself, they're only about $50.00 -Adam |
Wish I had noticed this before the warranty went out. :(
