fuel guage

I started up my truck the other morning and noticed my fuel gauge on empty. As i was driving to the gas station the low fuel light came on. I pumped about 5 gallons in and the punp shut off. I tried putting in more gas and it was full. The fuel guage has read empty since. Any ideas about this would be appreciated. I have an '06 F-150 screw KR. Thanks.

Where do you fuel at ?

I assume this is in the Tank?

I assume if you drop the tank to do this, you should replace fuel pump while you are there?

Does this permanently fix this or once this one gets coated over time it will do again?

Thanks
