2000 Lightning Fog Light Mod
 

I completed the mod everything seemed fine until I spliced #2 and #12 together, now my headlights come on when I turn my switch to the parking light position, fog lights will work also but I’m confused by the headlights coming on. Remove the splice and the parking lights work correctly but no fogs when i pull the switch out. Any ideas?

Not sure where you got the pin numbers, the diagram I have shows pin #14, Brown wire is spliced to the #2 White w/ Black stripe wire.

Also did you pull cab fuse panel # 27 ?

The diagram I looked at in my album, I looked closer is a 1999 cell 92-01 diagram, which shows pin #14 as the brown wire.

The 2001 EVTM shows pin #12 as the brown wire, sorry about that.

The directions leave out pulling that fuse, which is needed to be done, else the circuit from the parking lamps is completed to the low beams when the MFS ( multiFunction Switch ) is in the low position.

If you had the parking lamps on, and turn on the high beams, the headlamps would go out.

Common mistake that I see with the modification instructions for the electrical part. If you only did the electrical modification, not the ramp you would never see this.
