2010 F150 rear window defroster wiring

I have a 2010 F150 screw with out rear defrost. I want to add one and was wondering if it is pre-wired? I know by looking at the manual if I had both the heated mirrors and rear defrost it would be the same switch. So does that mean if I have heated mirrors the wiring would be there? I do have heated mirrors. Thanks.

It only means the relay and fuses are there.

The wiring to the back you are going to have to run yourself.

You will use the heated back lite relay to power both

The note to cell 56-2 is the wire to the mirrors.

I pulled the panel off of the back wall last night on the passenger side and found a plug with 3 wires, one is fairly large. The connector is blue oval. Could this be the defrost connector?

The diagram shows it as 2 1 pin connectors, so I would say that is not it.

Hey Sscully, do you have any idea what the plug I have pictured is for?

Sorry, no clue. It would take quite a while to do a connector locate.

I've got the same problem. Did you find an aftermarket kit, or do you have to replace the whole rear window? Also, if it is a kit, will it work with a power slide window?

Thanks

Yes I have found some on the web. J.C. Whitney has one the prices I have found are around $70 or so. From what I've read you can not use them for a sliding back glass powered or manual. I have not got one yet, I am still trying to see if it is prewired back there. I found two connecters back there, one is 3 wires and the other is 2 wires. I did not have a chance to see if they are energized when the mirror defrost is turned on.

Did you ever find out if the wires you found are actually for the defroster?

I found this pic since I am new it will not let me post it but search under defroster its by Timelessr1 it was posted 10/10/2010 it shows the blue plug going to the defroster on the rear glass. the question I have if its wired do you need to add a switch on the dash or will it come on with the heated mirrors?
