Keyless entry door keypad

I have an 02 XLT with the factory KE but without the alarm. I was wondering if it is possible to add they keypad to the door? Also i was wondering if ford has a factory alarm that can be added too with possible remote start.

It is very easy to add the keypad to the truck, if you already have the RKE.

The factory code for the door keypad is on the CSM, located up behind the dash.

Note parking brake to the left side of the picture.
Driver's side floor.

Looking up behind dash.
Left side of picture is the ratchet mech for the parking brake.
The off white module in the center top of the picture will have a 5 digit code on it, that is the factory code, once you install the keypad.

The part number for the keypad

The bottom box is the door handle, painted to match in YN silver. The last 2 letters change for the color of the handle.

Here is a write up on the Std and SCab keypad installs

The SCrew is slightly different, there are pictures of it in my Interior Pics album

If you are looking for a remote start with alarm, that would be the Ford Gold RMST, or the Code Alarm equivalent. Travis @ KCAutosound.com can hook you up with a CA version, and for an additional 25.00 prewire it and include the wiring diagrams.

Open your door panel and see if the connector is there. If it is, you "should" just be able to get new handle with key pad and install it. It will fit but is it activated, I don't have any idea.

***edit***
SSCULLY you just made my post look cavemanish.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it!!! I am prone to locking my keys in my vehicle so this will help a lot. Not no mention I will be installing a new stereo in here and am
worried about theft(I had am alpine deck on my last vehicle stolen) also a
lil ot but does anyone know what the factory tint is on the scabs? I think mine has the privacy glass option as it is darker than
the xls for sure

Sorry didn't mean to do that

The 99-03 do not need to activate the function in the BSM like the 04-08 MY trucks.
The RAP / CSM on the 99-03 all the function is in there right out of the gate. Just a case of confirming the RAP / CSM is installed and it is good to go.
One other thing I did not make mention of, there is no need to cut off the counter weights on the new door handle.

Leave the counter weights on the handle you get, no problem with it ( don't know why there was a big deal about cutting them off ), my '01 factory handle ( without the keypad hole ) and the replacement one, both had 2 counter weights on it.

SSCULLY - I'm considering this mod, as I have already confirmed I do have the electrical connector in the door already. My question to you is that since you've done this before, was there any reason that you couldn't take the original door handle and simply cut a hole in it for the keypad? As I understand it, the handle and keypad are bought separately.

I'm quite positive I can pull off cutting a hole precisely enough to work, but is there anything behind that handle that is different that allows for the keypad to fit? Just want to see if it was possible to do this a bit cheaper lol.

Thanks,

- Erik

No screw mounts to hold the keypad in would be the big thing.

Oh, alright then, see I was assuming it simply snapped in. Oh well, I suppose I wont be cheap and do it properly lol.

Thanks for the info,

- Erik
