Power seats won't move forward or backwards

I recently swapped some Lariat 40/60 power seats into my truck. Everything wired in and runs ok except for the forward and backwards motion. When you press the switch, it sounds and looks like it's trying to move, but won't. What could be the problem and what would I need to fix or replace?

unbolt the seat and see if they move with out it being bolted down, and check for any obstructions under the seat or in the track

I did that before I bolted the seats in. I wired them up and checks all the motors before I bolted them down, and the other two motors worked. Only the forward/backward ones seems to be struggling. If you look under the seat, the motor is on the outside of the seat(closest to the driver door) and it has an extension type deal going from the other side of the motor to the inside track, if you press the switch it moves the extension, but it just won't move the seat. Mine you, the truck I got these out of sat for two years because someone flooded the whole thing. My thoughts are since it has been moved along the track in so long, that there is some sort of build up in the area the track is currently set at.

yea the extension should turn, its like a roller on the end of that i believe, i'd disassemble the tracks and see if its super rusted on the end of that extension

Alright, I'll give that a try. I have to buy a T55 bit because I was using the guys since I lost mine. I'm pretty sure it's just rusted along the end of the extension. I imagine that if one end was rusted, the other end wouldn't move either, correct?

Problem fixed. Thanks, Pat. One of the tracks was gunked up with crud. Had to pull the motor, the mounts and then tap the tracks to break them free of the crud. Cleaned em out and lubed them up. Works great now.

awesome, good work :)

when you buy junk yard parts especially interior pieces, you dont know how the person used to treat the truck as far as eating in the car, vacuuming regularly etc.
