my left brake light comes off and on. i took out the bulb its good, looked at all the wires. they are all good. it was funny i was messing with the signal lever an every time i stepped on the brk and moved the lever up and down the light would work. any ideas. could it be the switch, relay,or something else?

You need to identify your truck.

Want to guess how many year's worth of F150s are out there and how many different versions of the stop lamp circuit there are?

I would try a different new bulb anyway on the left side, or switch the left and right bulbs.

The bulb works when you move the turn signal up and down, or the steering wheel column ?

Try a quick test ( aside from the one in masseyman's post ).

Turn the hazards on.

Put the steering wheel column all the way down <- Check both tail lamps

Put the steering wheel column all the way up <- Check both tail lamps

If the light starts to work by moving the steering wheel column, then the connector would be an issue ( pulling apart ).
