I think that's a personal preference b/c those numbers pretty much justify color to a certain extent. I went with 4300K which is what you see on BMW, Lexus and Benz stock but I have 8000K on my motorcycle b/c its closer to blue and my bike is blue. Look at this site for more info. I bought mine from here but I've seen them much cheaper else where. I roll with this company b/c I've used them more than once and I'm happy with there product.

Here you go. click on information and inform yourself

Stick with 5000k. When you go above 6000k you start to lose light output. You gain color but usable light starts to disappear. Think of it like putting a black light in your headlights. Yeah it would look cool, but you wouldn't be able to see anything.

I'd have to second that. Was at 6k but switched to 8k and, although they look better cosmetically, they're not as practical for actually seeing where you're trying to drive.

I have the xenonlink bi-xenon 5000k kit. They are perfect color in my opinion. Bright white.

thanks to all who posted . i went ahead and got the one i wanted. didn't care what everyone said about the color issue. but thanks,i got the 8000 kelvin. if they are all the same price why not get the cool looking ones.. i wanted to know if the hid for the fog lights are useful or should i just get the bulbs and replace them alone and not put a hole kit on for the fogs..?

If by just get the bulbs, you mean getting brighter halogen bulbs, I would skip that and go ahead and get an HID kit. Try to order from the same manufacturer so the color temp is a match. For your fog lights you need a 9145 or 9005 bulb.

thanks nolongerjeepin. just ordered them and it take the 9145 bulbs but do you think i need the whole kit or just the hid bulbs or will it not work with just the hid bulbs??

NoLongerJeepin 06-01-2009 02:22 AM

You need the entire kit. HID bulbs will not work without a ballast and supporting wiring harness.
