Seatbelt reminder (ding and light on dash)

I have a 2007 F-150 and I want to turn off the seatbelt reminder where it dings at you to remind you. I wear my seatbelt but if I am going to ride in a field to check on something and not get on the road I am not going to put my seatbelt on. Is there a way to turn this off without having to go to the fuse box? If there is how can this be done?

Take a look at page 166 of your owners manual.

Don't go to the fuse box, nothing there that would work.

That is the thing. When I bought the truck it did not have an owners manual with it and I have contacted the dealership about getting me one. Does anyone know where I could download one?

You can download the manual here.

Deactivating/activating the Belt-Minder feature
The driver and front passenger Belt-Minder are
deactivated/activated independently. When deactivating/activating
one seating position, do not buckle the other position as this will
terminate the process.
Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before proceeding with the
deactivation/activation programming procedure.
The driver and front passenger Belt-Minder features can be
deactivated/activated by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
• The parking brake is set
• The gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic transmission)
• The ignition switch is in the OFF position
• The driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately
1 minute)
• Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.
3. For the seating position being disabled, buckle then unbuckle the
safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state. (Step 3 must be
completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning light turns
off.)
• After Step 3, the restraint system warning light (airbag light) will be
turned on for three seconds.
4. Within approximately 7 seconds of the light turning off, buckle then
unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable the Belt-Minder feature for that seating position if it
is currently enabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning
light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
• This will enable the Belt-Minder feature for that seating position if it
is currently disabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning
light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by
3 seconds with the light off, then followed by the restraint system
warning light flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.

I didn't want to deal with all of that ^....

so, I decided to clip my belt before I get in the seat when the situation arises.

Well I thought about that jimmy but I did not want to deal with that because I have two small boys that will want to fide at times so I thought it would be best to turn the thing completely off. Also shris thanks for your info!!!

Another option. Go to the dealership and ask for a free seat belt extender. It's just a short piece of belt with a clip and a buckle on it. Clip it into place and it fools the system into thinking the belts are connected. That way you don't have to sit on the belt behind you - and it's FREE!
