Driver and Passanger Power Windows Quiting - 2006 S.Crew Lariaet
This is totally a PITA - so over the past month I've noticed that both the drivers side and passanger side window buttons are starting to go - I have to press them back and forth a few times to get the window to go back up - going down is never a problem. I took it to the dealer b/c its barley 2 years old and they quoted me a ridic number of $450/switch to replace them. Has anyone else had this issue with a 2006 S.Crew? Is there some recall that it should be repaired under or under warranty? I think this is pitiful to happen on 2 year old $45K vehicle. My '99 saturn with 200K miles on it still has power windows that work and I paid about 1/4 the price for it!:mad

My 2006 SCrew driver's side stopped working. it was the contacts in the switch, quick replacement, and cheap enough ( ~ 40.00 + shipping ).
Std warr time is 36 months or 36K miles I thought, so they are correct in it is no longer covered, but to quote you a new motor as the cure was just ripping you off.
There is a thread on here about cleaning the contacts, to make the switch work again, but for 40.00 I woudl rather start from new, vs. a cleaned ( and slightly diminished thickness ) contact. your call if you would rather spend the time cleaning the contacts.

I don't think I'm having quite the same problem. I'm noticing in my rear windows, especially the passenger side, both are starting to go really slow. The same thing happened in my 99 F-250. I tried taking it to a dealer when the rear passenger clearly was going slower than the other 3 windows. They apparently couldn't see it was going slower. So I ended up getting angry and left that dealer without every looking back.
