Colored LED's in the dash?
Noticed today that some parts of my dash are faded (fuel gauge line is dimmer and others) and I was thinking of getting some wide-angled blue LED's to replace the lights with. They should be powerful enough to cancel out the "greenish" tint Ford put on the gauges. What do you guys think?

I think it will be tealish. That tinted plastic holds it's color pretty well. If it did work, I think it would be so bright you wouldn't want them in there.
Just buy a blue colored overlay? |

i have seen people do it with green leds to make it 'true green' and blue leds to make it 'blue. and no, its not overpowering at all and not tealish any longer. in fact i am doing the same thing to match my deck... all wide angle leds |

I've tried it on a couple other vehicles with the same factory green tint deal and it did not work. Became "tealish." At least it works on something! |
Any good recommendations for types, Grafix? Are the wide-angled ones the ones with bulbs all around and facing front? I got my LED dome from Oznium today. Install was a b!tc% but looks good. The inside of my cab is bright as day now! 5/5!!!!

you can get other ones and try if they fit.. but the ones with multiple leds are wider / longer then the wide angle ones.. thus migt not fit into the hole |

Heres A how to on a mustang. It also mentions that the standard dash with green numbers will light up blue when you use a cool white(blueish tinge) LED. I allready order my leds for the dash and HVAC and I will post up a little how to. |
its as straight forward as replacing your bulbs with led replacements. not much needed for how to for this one.
i would suggest trying wideangle leds as well.. as the ones shown in link might not fit the hole... ordered mine a few days ago.. |
