2001 F150 electrical problems

I have an 01 F150 with a V6. Everytime it rains or if the air is moist, I have all kinds of electrical problems. Sometimes, the windshield wipers will not work. Then, the high beams may come on and go off when they want to. Also, I have had the driver's window roll down by itself. All of this while driving. Other times, I can walk up to the truck, keys in hand, and all of the lights and gauges on the dash are lite and pegged. I am open to any suggestions on where the problem lie. This began about a year ago and has progressivly gotten worst.

Look for evidence water has leaked onto the GEM module from a windshiled leak.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where is the GEM located?

Look on the back side of the fuse panel.
This module is a universal type that is programmed to the vehichle applications and controls a lot of functions.

..and get the leak sealed ASAP

The fuse panel is often damaged by the water infiltration, also.

ok...i'm sure i'm having the same problem. my stereo is turning on and off as well as my 4x4 dash indicator keeps turning on and off. The kicker is that the stereo works in park and neutral but not drive or reverse... . I can hear the GEM unit under the dash clicking when this happens. so my question is how do i replace it, where do i get it and what is the cost. my windshield does leak, at the top, so i know that has to be fixed................:santa:

ok, so i made the appointment to have the windshield re-sealed. i looked online for parts and only found the ecm unit. is this the same thing as the gem or no? not cheap either way!! :help:
