airbag light flashing after replacing airbag

airbag light flashing after replacing airbag

i recently had to replace my air bag (big tree), and when i connected my new one the light went off...but, it comes back on flashes a few times, stays on for a bit then goes off and repeats...do i need to have my truck scanned??

You didn't say which model and year you have, but... the light is probably blinking a two digit code. Count the blinks and then do a search or post the two digit code here.

Ok, then we might be able to figure out what code the light is blinking. Did you count the flashes?

Don't know for sure, but on the ones I've worked on, any deployment requires the sdm(module) to be replaced with the airbag/s.

According to Ford, if ANY airbag blows, the ADM/RCM must be replaced.

where is the module located and about how much do they cost??

V E R Y expensive. you can pick up used [undeployed] ones on E-Bay.
Or you can have your old one reset.
