Isolate battery drain - normal draw?

I'm trying to isolate a minor battery drain on my 2002 King Ranch w/5.4L.

What would be considered a "normal" battery drain on the ammeter with the underhood bulb dis-connected and the truck shut off for 1 hour.?

Right now, I'm getting .26A between the neg battery post and cable.

Thanks!....

I recently checked out the battery drain on my 2001 excursion with 5.4L engine. When I first connected my ammeter it read close to 400mA. After a few minutes it dropped to about 250mA, with a little spike of a few mA every second or so. I assumed the spike was caused by the instrument panel theft light blinking on and off. I left my meter connected all night long. The next morning the ammeter was bouncing between 13mA and 16mA, once again, presumably because of the anti theft light.

Ford specifies no more than 0.500 A parasitic draw with everything turned off normally.
