Changing speedometer kilo's to MPH
I am looking at buying a Canadian 2004 f150 Lariat. It of course has the speedometer face with kilometers in the big numbers and the miles in the small numbers (oposite of ours). I would like to make it correct but I suppose I would have to change out the whole cluster to make it work?? Or could I just change out just the speedometer itself or even just the face??
Also, I would like to retain the correct odometer reading. They tell me the existing odometer is able to be switched back and forth from kilos to miles, so maybe that could be left alone? What would be the easiest cheapest fix? I want it to look factory origional, or is there some WAY COOL aftermarket thing I should be looking at? Thanks Figaro |
well the needle moves the same distance weither its KM or M so you should need to just find a stock gauge face.

I was thinking the same thing... If you could find one at a salvage yard that was slightly damaged, you may be able to swap over just that portion of the face, but I suspect it would be a pretty involved process.
I'm thinking you could probably do a gauge overlay instead, but I'm not sure.... -Joe |
I have the same problem. I just bought a 2004 F150 Lariat in Florida and it will be shipped to Belgium, Europe. To get an overlay in mph check www.usspeedo.com or www.nuimage1.com, I got one in kph from usspeedo for my Chevy Silverado SS. Unfortunately they don't have them in kph for a Ford F150 Lariat. If you know where I can get an overlay in kph for a 2004 Lariat, please let me know.
Installation of an overlay is easy. USSpeedo gives you all the needed tools and doc with your order. Happy holidays, Francis |
You guy should just swap out... One needs an MPH and the other needs an KPH...  :rocker:
