Don't think Securilock is working
I don't think my Securilock is working. It states in the manual that when the ignition is in the off position, indicator will flash once every 2 seconds. Mine doesn't do that. Now when I turn on the ingition the indicator will glow for 3 seconds and then go off indicating that is is supposed to be working. Any ideas?

When I got my 03 the salesman said that FORD had done away with the light flashing for people thought it would run the battery down.It's still there working for you.Too save money they didn't didn't do a reprint about it I figure.

Do you have your key out of the ign when it is in the off position ?
My '01 would not blink on the dash with the transponder hanging in the ign switch. Found this out, Dad has my '01 now, and he leaves the keys in the ign, and it won't blink. My '06 has a blinking LED up on the dash, in the sun sensor part on the surface of the dash, so it is alarger blinking LED now ( sort of looks like it would be an aftermarket Alarm install ). Just a question about it not blinking on your '02. Don't know if it holds water or not in that MY. |
It doesn't flash with key in or out of ignition.

On your '02 it should blink the THEFT telltale in the Instrument Cluster (i.e. above the tachometer I believe) when the ignition is turned to OFF.
Please note, on these vehicles the telltale does not stay on very long and can be difficult to see in bright daylight. Try it at night, you should see it flash once every 2 seconds. |
