PIAA 9005's replacing 9145 2005 F150 fogs

Modifiying one of the socket tabs was all it took. The PIAA 9005's compared to the 9145's are much more effective for both clear weather driving and rain. The current draw difference is about 1.2 amps per light. At my age I like...need light.

With the comparison, what are the other test subjects ?

i.e. Factory 21 W bulbs / 9145ST / other ??

Just curious, I had the Hoen Fog lamp bulbs in, which were a real close comparison to the PIAA Ion Crystal fog lamps, but did not put out much more light then stock bulbs ( just the color change to yellow-ish white output ).

I then installed the 9145STs, and these put out a bunch more light then the factory or Hoen bulbs.

Also, some might not think it worth the money, but I replaced the Headlamps with the Sylvania Xtra-Vision bulbs, and there actually is a bit more output to them, over the factory bulbs w/ the same AMP draw as factory bulbs, using a Fluke clamp meter on the headlamps wires by the socket.
The SilverStar bulbs are one of those any day now releases, but no date as of yet.

Also, where did you take the AMP draw reading at ?

Thanks for the info so far.

The original 9145's were 47 watt. I tested the current draw on the work bench power supply using 14 v. I will replace the headlights when PIAA makes the 9008/H13 bulb.
