Door Chime - Clock spring?
Ok guys.
My door chime used to stay on constantly with no key in the ignition and the lights off. Pulled the ignition switch out and found one of the tabs bent and grounding out. Taped it up and no chime, but the dealer tell me that this is all attached to the clock spring. I would like to fix it with a new receptacle where the lockand key cylinder inserts but am not enthused about buying and replacing the entire assembly. Truck is 98 F150 5.4.
Thanks
Jon

Well on my 97 the tab in the ignition was separate from the clock spring. I think the wire that goes to it is part of the harness for the clock spring. I'm sure if you could get a new tab for the lock cylinder then you could splice the wire.
