Door Ajar Light won't go off

My door ajar light won't go off now. It started having problems a few days ago but went off. Now it won't go off at all and my interior lights won't go out when I shut the truck off. Where is the switch for this. THe problem is definately in the drivers door cause before when it would be tempramental I tried opening the pass side door and the light went off when I shut the door then opened drivers side and it would stay on. Anyways I had to pull the relay for the interior lights now so I won't kill my battery. So if anoyne can help please let me know how to fix this.

What TexfordD said will do the job. Just don't forget that you have two (or more) doors.

Smile WD40 works instantly

Thanks for the TIP!!
spraying wd40 into both door latches took the "DOOR AJAR" light OFF! it was stuck "ON" It also took care of my inside light for being ON. Now all works normally. Thanks again for the tip.
MAC.

I have been having the same problem. But on and off? I thought it had to do with the remote control locks??
I stoped using the remote, and it has seem's to have stoped, but I am not locking the doors eaither??

What is spraying the WD40 doing when it is sprayed on there?

Thanks all!

that is where the switch is located that turns the dome light and door ajar light on. WD40 cleans and lubes it.

Cool 1999 door ajar/lights on

I am new to this site, what a great tool!

Thanks! We are having the same problem. Just bought the truck and interior light and cargo light stays on. Mechanic told us that the sensor is only sold by For and costs $265! I think I'll try the WD-40 trick first. Obviously this is a Ford problem with this model and year.

Thanks for the help!

I had been struggling off and on with this problem for almost a year. Tried the wd-40 trick and PRESTO! Works like a champ.
You guys rock!
