Chip no go ...........as expected
Chip no go ...........as expected
Well as I fully expected after 2 hours of taking battery out(no way possible to remove harness otherwise) and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning on the contacts and putting chip in and tightening harness back up and putting battery back in and securiying everything. Guess what? yep, no crank just turning the starter. So I have no clue what this means, more cleaning on contacts.........sure hope not. Or need jumpers.........DING DING DING we have a winner. Howd I know that id need jumper work or that it just wouldnt work period. Anyway I guess this is where I get the jumper papers emailed to me and i try to decipher them. Or just mail back chip with the computer...........i dont know whatever.......................
if you read this mike email is hjmdawg@hotmail.com
course im sure it will be next week tuesday or so if i have to mail this in before it can get soldered or whatever...................
oh well there went my exciting friday............................

Hi Sixbanger,
Sorry that you have apparently run into a snag here, which may be a jumper box, as there have been a couple of AAT2's affected over the years.
Thanks for calling & leaving us a voicemail for Tech Support, it's greatly appreciated.
We have returned your call, but unfortunately you weren't able to answer the phone so we missed you, we left a message for you.
We could email the jumper info to you so you could at least confirm that it's a jumper issue, if you had something other than a hotmail email address. The hotmail free email services won't take this large a file attachement transfer (the jumper info includes numerous high-resolution color photos, even zipped it's too big), however, so if you can get us another email address to shoot that info to you at, we'll be more than happy to.
We'll also want to speak with you of course, to see if you want to take care of this locally with the jumper instructions, or if you want us to have the manufacturer take care of that for you (which is the easiest way, if you can take a couple days of vehicle downtime), & of course we're happy to do either, whichever you prefer.
Sorry we missed you, & hope to talk with you soon, as we'll try calling you at least once a day over the holiday weekend to try to reach you!

sixbanger,
Get a email account with yahoo.com It is free and easy. Just go to yahoo.com and sign up! I was able to get the jumper diagrams through that email service. If I still had it I would send it to you as I have sent it to several people lately in this section (infact several members from this site and the other sent me the diagrams through yahoo.com-if you post a thread that states your needs, another member should get it too you). However, I recently deleted the files since they where so large. Sorry.
Anyway, you can look at your computer board and tell which configuration you have. I took mine to a local electronics repair shop and had it soldered for 30 or 40 bucks. I put it back together and plugged in the Superchip and it started! Later I had some problems but it was due to me not cleaning properly. I took it out and cleaned it like I should have from the start and no more problems. Although, I just had to take it out since I put a supercharger in my truck (must get reprogrammed). I really miss the chip!!!!!
I felt "stranded" like you, it was the weekend when I realized that I needed the soldering. But, what is "neat" about the Superchip is that, you can always put the computer back and drive your truck (it is Labor day weekend) until you figure out how you need to proceed, so you are not stranded.
If I had bought the chip from Mike T. I would have sent it to him if possible due to his incredible expertise, but if you are unable to go with out your daily driver for a few days, I would find a person whom is very good with soldering. You can "burn" up the jumpers very easily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, remember, you do that at your own risk!
I am going to search for the thread by the member that needed the diagrams and post it for you soon. Maybe you can contact him and he can email it to you (if he has not deleted it)
Wish I could be more help.

Six banger,
I just posted in the thread, "Jumper Fix" to bring it back up for you. Unless there is a mad dash of postings, it should be some where at the top of the list.
You may wish to contact they guy, he may still have the diagrams I sent him, his email address is
kurt@argco.com
Good Luck
