Chip Ordered
Hi F150/Paul,
If you ordered a Superchip from us here at Performance, then just about everything you need or want to know about it's installation will be gone over thoroughly in our Performance Products documentation you will receive. We include not only the manufacturer's instructions, but also our own much more through documentation as well, and we write them to take a first time installer thru this smoothly, with no surprises. We include everything from troubleshooting to what to do to prepare your vehicle for service, etc.
However, there is one thing to give some thought to before you install the Superchip, and that is what's in the gas tank.
We recommend that you run your current tank of gas (which is probably 87 octane regular gas, as that is what these vehicles require in stock trim) down at least until the low fuel light comes on, then fill it up with good quality premium gas (steer clear of any cheapos, no-names or off-brands!) and *then* install your Superchip. That's about the only thing to really think about in terms of preparing for the installation of your Superchip before it arrives.
Other than that, everything else is included in the documentation, and the installation is not hard, but like anything, it needs to be done right, so we provide very good documentation here at Performance.
If you have any questions, etc. about this, give us a call at our number below & we'll be happy to help.
Good luck!
