Chip Removed?
Taking it to the dealer is one good reason, I took my chip out 2 tanks of gas ago (Diablosport).
Only reason I did was to see what kind of difference it makes on gas mileage.
After a few more tanks, I will pop it back in.
Easy as pie to remove and put back.

Hey Lean,
If someone needed custom programming for new modifications, they would take it out to send back to us for those changes to the program.
Or, if they are going in for service, as another poster mentioned, we recommend removing any performance chip, tuner, etc., in case they need to do diagnostics during service, etc., and we recommend doing that whether they are under warranty or not.
Someone might want to do properly controlled back-to-back drag strip testing or other types of acceleration testing, we commonly do that here ourselves, and so that would be a reason to remove a Superchip.
So sure, there are some situations that would present a good reason or need to remove the Superchip.

Thank you for the replies everyone. However, I meant permanent removal of the chip because of some problem or what not. Sorry to have not made it clear the 1st time.
Thanx
