Remove Superchip, Reset???

I just removed my superchip and the engine won't idle, I remember reading about having to reset the computer by removing the battery cable or something like that. Any HELP???

Follow the install instructions in reverse, if I remember correctly.
1. Remove negative battery cable.
2. Turn headlights on (they won't actually turn on but this drains all the power out of the system)
3. Wait 5 minuets (at least)
4. Turn lights off.
5. Reconnect battery cable.

Make sure that you put that plastic (factory) cover back on where the superchip connects.

If that doesn't work call Mike.

Hello Everyone,

Glad to see you're running OK again there '01screw, it was very kind of kpaton to help out!

Let us know if you have any problems, etc., sounds like you're in good shape now.

Due to the use of screen names here, I can't look you up in our database so I don't know if you got your Superchip from us here at Performance, but if so, you will have supplemental Performance Products documentaion that came with your Superchip and is much more detailed than the manufacturer's instructions, and goes over exactly what to do in this and other situations. If you got your Superchip from us here at Performance Products but have misplaced those docs, please shoot us an email with your full name, vehicle & address info, and we'll look you up in our files and send you another copy of those docs so you'll have them on hand.

Good luck & thanks to kpaton for lending a hand!
