How do i find out my Computer Code?
Where on where do i look to find out my computer code? i am assuming it is the FOU1 progrma secondary to my pinging issues and the build of my truck (see vehicle decp. below), any help is always appreciated!
Hi pgh_medic,
As ****4 kindly pointed out, to find your computer code in any 1997 & newer F-150, F-250 Light Duty or Expedition, open the front door on the passenger side, and then look in the front part of the door frame, down the A-pillar in the area of the door hinges, you should see a small sticker with 3 letters followed by 1 number printed on it, 4 digits total. That is your computer code.
If that code sticker happens to be missing, take a look under the hood on the passenger side, on the firewall right behind the battery, and you'll see a wiring harness "hub" that meets the firewall, it has a single 10 mm bolt head dead-center. On that harness "hub", right where it seems to meet the firewall (this is actually where the harness attaches to the front of the computer), there is sometimes a white sticker with a couple of lines of writing on it, and the code is usually there as well, 3 letters & 1 number.
You can also just go right to the computer itself, which is mounted just above the passenger's kick panel. It is held against it's mounting plate by a small black plastic pressure clip. Simply pull that clip straight back, and then look at the code sticker on the back of the computer, which is usually covered up by that plastic pressure clip. You should see your code right there.
If all 3 of those places fail, then just give us a call & we'll tell you how to remove the computer from the vehicle to view the large code sticker that is always on top of every Ford computer.
There's always a place to find the code!
