I've heard about the FOU computer code somewhere on the forums but of course the search is down.

It's in my 98' XLT S/C 4x4 4.6L auto. Was this particular code more aggressive than others or what? Any gurus with info on it?

The FOU1 code is basically like any other code. It's found on some of the 1998 4.6 automatic F-150's. It does tend to show a little bit higher percentage of vehicles that exhibit detonation on the factory program using 87 octane, maybe 5% of the FOU1's will do that, so that does tend to stand out a bit, and tends to indicate that it's a bit more aggressive, but most FOU1 owners have no such issues.

Because of FOU1's slightly higher tendency to detonate in stock trim, we make a couple of different performance programs for them just in case their owners have any such issues when using the Superchip.

That aside, there really isn't any significant difference between any of these codes that would be noticeable to any driver.
