Superchip and E-check
Anyone know if my truck will pass the emissions test here in Ohio with the Superchip installed? Should I just take it out for the test?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Hi Bob,
Yes, your Superchip will pass emissions, you have the 50-state emissions certification right there in with your paperwork & documentation. As long as your vehicle will pass emissions without the Superchip, it will pass emissions with the Superchip, and usually be a little bit cleaner as well.
Good luck!

I kinda thought it would but I just wanted to make sure. This will be the first time I have to get it tested since it's a 2000 model. One more question. Do I need to take the documentation with me when I get it tested?
Thanks again,

Hi Bob!
No, you don't have to have that documentation with you, that is strictly up to you. If memory serves, I think only California residents might want to have that handy.
What we generally recommend is to keep that info (the white card that came with the Superchip that has the green CARB logo and the EO# number on it) for the 50-state emissions ceritification in your glove compartment, along with the "tab" that came off the back of the computer so you could access the port to attach the Superchip. That way you'll have both handy should you ever need them for any reason, they won't get lost.

I live in the Akron, Ohio area, I had my 2000 E-Checked last month with no problem. I have a Superchip and K&N FIPK.

Hi DougS,
Thanks for letting us know your results in the "real world."
I would expect your vehicle should pass emissions, as both of those parts are 50-state CARB & EPA emissions certified, so as long as your vehicle passes in stock trim, it will pass with any CARB-certified part on it as well. That has also been the pattern here among those who have been kind enough to post their emissions test results, they sail thru with flying colors as long as the parts they use are CARB-certified.
