The Chip is in
Well, I got the chip yesterday and installation was done an hour later. The instructoins were great and very easy to understand. I put the chip in , reconnected everything, and turned the key..Amazing, it started up. Took it for a drive and the gains are very noticeable and pleasing.
I have one question though...Let's just say that I did something wrong during the install, would my truck work if the chip wasn't working?...Like, say the connectors aren't all the way cleaned, would the truck start and appear to work properly if the chip wasn't really connecting well....just wondering cuz I get nervous when it comes to doing mods on my truck.
Thanks everyone for answering all my quiestions prior to getting this chip and thatnks to Mike and Anita.

I felt the same way. I just installed mine two weeks ago, but so far so good. I can feel the difference, just a little nervous about messing with the computer. Curious to hear what Mike T has to say about it.
Good luck!
Good luck!
I assuming that the truck would nt work at all. I had the same concern, but I am trying to enjoy the chip!
I just put my chip and I LOVE IT!!! I am so glad I did it. I can't wait until the computer is doen learning so I can some real fun!

Hi XLT-Sport,
If you do not have the Superhcip properly installed, the engine generally will not start, you'll have an obvious problem.
It is possible to clean off enough of the conformal coating from the connector to allow the vehicle to start and run normally for awhile with the Superchip, but then have a problem with a no-start later on, perhaps months later. If that happens, it's simply due to thermal expansion & contraction causing any remaining conformal coating to migrate and interrupt the connection. That is why we go over how to do that so thoroughly in our documentation, so that you will not have a problem now, or later. Should you ever have such a problem, the connection is the first place to look, any problems are almost always a simple matter of not removing all of the conformal coating from that connector, and easy to take care of.
So far, it sounds like everything is fine, so you can just enjoy your Superchip & have fun with the new power & performance.
