What if the sticker is missing?
I know a guy who is interested in buying a superchip, but his sticker inside the passenger door has been removed. How can he find out what his code is? His truck is a 97 2WD F-150. Thanks...
Hi richgonefishn,
Haven't seen you here for awhile!
As Max said in his post, you can find a code sticker on top of the computer (which is it's right side the way it's mounted in the 97 & newer F-150), and sometimes you'll find a code on the sticker that is on the wiring harness that connects to the front of the ECU under the hood, right behind the battery.
Have your friend take a look at that harness, right where it looks like it's dead-ending into the firewall, and there is sometimes a white sticker with 2 lines of writing on it. The code is usually on the lower line of writing on that sticker, and will of course be 3 letters followed by 1 number.
And if he needs to go to the computer to get his code, you have already done that so you know what to tell him there.
