Question?

I'm going to order the vortech supercharger in the near (very near) future for my 2001 4.2 liter v6. Just wondering if superchips inc have a flip chip or any kind of chip for the supercharged 4.2 v6? Kind of new to this stuff, but I'm learning day by day. One more thing, what kind of gain would I see? Any info would much appreciated.

I put a Magnacharger on my truck almost a week ago. I ordered a Superchip flip chip at the time I ordered the supercharger. It's not only possible, it's highly recomended.
I think your best bet would be to give Mike Troyer (Performance Products) a call. He has set many up with Superchips for thier supercharged trucks. He should be around soo to give you some more technecle info.
I have not run my truck without a Superchip for more than a day in the past year (almost a year). I can't imagine running this now supercharged truck without a Superchip. It would be dissapointing!

Good luck!
Tom

Hi FastGaF150,

Yes, we can take care of tuning supercharged V-6 F-150's, in fact, we have a customer who is 4.2 V-6 making 400+ HP (who we're about to do another set of programs for his latest changes), and others well over 300 hp.

How much of a power gains you will see from the Superchip varies depending on your level of modification. On a stock to lightly modified 4.2 V-6, the maximum gains are 25 hp & 31 lbsd./ft. of torque. However, with a supercharger, the gains are usually on the order of at least 30-35 horsepower.

You might want to touch base with us to go over this in detail, and we can also help you with any other performance needs, we carry a lot more than just Superchips.

Since you plan on going with a supercharger, you will definitely want to go with the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip, as it will actually be cheaper with the custom programming/tuning you are going to need, and you'll have more power & better flexibility. You can go with the Superchip now if you like, so you'll get it's great power gains and not have to wait until you do the supercharger, and then have it updated when the blower goes on.

Give us a call when you get a chance & we can go over all of this and more with you in detail.

Sounds like you're going to have a very fun truck!
