Cool Got Chip

OK everyone what is your chip # ?

Is there commonality or is there a small subset of trucks with the same code ?

What parameters require a code change ?

Any major changes ?

What aboot minor changes ?

SNL4

Hi canyonslicker,

I'm not sure what you're really trying to ask, but I'll try to go over a little bit in general...........

SNL4 is just one of hundreds of different codes for that model year, there is nothing special about it, aside from the fact that we joke about it, calling it "Saturday Night Live 4."

There are certainly other trucks out there with that same code of SNL4, and since there are 750,000 F-150's built every years, and anywhre from 150-250 different factory programs each model year for the F-150, roughly, you can easily have thousands of trucks with the same code, or you can have only a relatively small number using the same code.

There are many reasons for different codes, different engines, transmissions, rear gear ratios, different configurations, etc., in addition to runing updates to codes throught the course of each model year, so you can have a different code for any of a number of reasons.

You don't need to change that code, and can't, only your dealership can do that, and there isn't any reason to, there isn't any particular problem with that code.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, just give us a quick call & we can go over that at length with you, if you like.
