Flip Chip Installed

Just finished with the installation of the flip chip. No problems, had to remove the mounting bracket and bend the tabs down for the clip that holds the computer in place. Have a half a tank of reg. gas to burn then it's go time. No instructions for installing the decals, what in the world is a spihcrepus?

Hi suvdrvr,

Glad you're up and running with your Superchip!

You're right, there are no instructions for the Superchips sticker, it's very easy: Decide where you want to apply the sticker, and then you simply peel the backing from one side, place the sticker in position where you want it on the vehicle, applying smoothing pressure from the center out to each end so you don't have any wrinkles or bubbles, etc. Once it's in place, simply pull off the backing on the visible side, and you're done! There are even 2 stickers included, in case you make a mistake with 1 or you want to have 1 on each side of the vehicle, or whatever.

It's a very high quality sticker, it's not a decal, so you won't be soaking it like you would a standard decal. It's a straight direct application dry type of sticker that is more attractive and far more durable than a simple decal.

Have fun & thanks for your post!

I put my flip chip in this weekend. It went well. I didn't have to cut the bracket of anything. It was already cut! Oh yea, I already installed a Superchip last year.
So far I have only run side 2. I feel lots more power. Lots! I installed a supercharger this weekend too, I'm not sure whether the gains are from that or the flip chip.
If you got the money, I would advise a supercharger with the Superchip flip chip!

Mike,

The vast majority of the time I consider you to be a wealth of good information, but in this case I suggest you step aside and let one of us pros handle it! LOL!

Actually, that was a first, I don't think we've ever had anyone ask for instructions on how to apply a sticker. It's a valid queston, everyone has a "first time" to do something like that, we've just never had anyone ask before that I can recall.

Over the years I haven't been one to put stickers of any kind on our vehicles (aside from the first hot-rod in my teens, which had the required 50 decals on the windows, each worth several horsepower of course), so I'd be the first to say I'm not an expert in applying stickers.

Thanks for the laugh, Signmaster!

I was joking.... I guess I should have put lol after my post. Any way I don't want any stickers on my truck except my NRA sticker. I did stick one of the superchips stickers on my wifes civic when she wasn't looking, she says it runs better now. LOL

I knew you were kidding, I just had to mess with Mike.

Even though he knows chips and programming, you know the EASY stuff....... I didn't want him to give you bum scoop and then let you have potential problems with adhesive outgassing, plasticiser migration, or anything of a TECHNICAL nature.

Also, don't forget to loosen up your hands well. You don't want a case of "carpal squeegee syndrome"!

Anytime you guys need someone to walk right into something head on, I'll be happy to oblige, again.

Just call me easy, greasy................. my friends call me gullible!

Pardon me while I go paint my Howdy-Doody face on for maximum effect.
