Question Ranger Superchip

Sorry I know this is a F-150 forum but I was curious if you have programs for a 4.0L Ranger. I have a superchip on it already but I think there could be a better program.

TIA.....Joe

Hi Soap (Joe),

If you'd like to give us a call, we can work with you to determine which program you have, and if there is anything that would be significantly different enough to be worth having. Usually those 4.0's are pretty straightforward, we've owned a few & worked with many 4.0 owners, both the 155-160 HP OHV versions as well as the later SOHC 4.0.

You may already be getting all that can be had via powertrain programming on that vehicle with the Superchip you have, most of Superchips 4.0 programs are pretty well done. What you get is roughly about a 10% raw power gain, which is enough to feel and certainly well worth it's cost, but is not enough to turn a 2-ton SUV into a performance vehicle, of course.

Just give us a shout & we'll see just where you're at overall with what you have, etc., if you like.

Hi Soap,

Sorry I was tied up when you called yesterday (Wednesday)!

We did check to see if there was an update to the last code you asked about, the POT0 for that 4.0, and there is not. That's how it usually is, unless we have a specialty vehicle like the Lightning, which requried quite a bit of ongoing R&D for over a year, or on a rare case where we find something new and implement it across the board at a later date.

There may be one other possibility, but we'll need to go over that via the phone, and I think you wanted to go over something on your Lightning anyway, so I'll try to give you a call a bit later on today.

Thanks for touching base!
