Question chip for 87 octane?

Is there a chip for cheap gas? Since I live around Chicago, premium gas is expensive. I have a 00 screw 5.4 4x4.

it usally at the most will cost you about $3.00 more to fill up with 93 octane and youll come out ahead.your truck runs better.

i too am about to buy one.

i just recently figured it out that there was not that much of a difference in the price.

$1.05 for regular $31.50 @30 gallons
$1.18 for 93 $35.40 @ 30 gallons

that is the highest i have seen it around it.

at sam's it is about $.88 for 87 and $.99 for 93 so i always go with the 93

good luck.
i had a chip on my last f150 and it does help. you can really feel a difference in the tranny.

Hi kschaper,

Actually, yes, there is!

It's our 2-program Superchip Flip Chip, and it has both our normal performance program for premium gas, as well as another program that is optimized for operation on 87 octane gas.

What we do is to baically make both programs identical except for the octane level the engine is tuned for, and that way you have the best of both worlds, so to speak, available to you at the flip of it's toggle switch.

As some other posters have mentioned, the additional cost to operate our standard single program Superchip on premium gas all the time is really very small, usually no more than $1 per 100 miles. This assumes a 20 cent per gallon cost delta between regular and premium.

If you'd like more detailed info on this or anything performance related, please feel free to give us a shout, our contact info is just below.

Good luck with your truck!
