Question about adjusting the spedo

Hi Mike, I am one of your recent customers, and have a question about changing my gearing to a 4.10 on my SCREW. This is most likley my next upgrade and I want to know if there is a way to have the spedo adjusted via the chip on the 2001s or is this possible yet. I read another post where one guy says he has not found a way to do this yet, including chips for the 2001s...

If you have any info on this or any solutions, please let me know, thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Yes, I know who you are.

Briefly, we can indeed recalibrate the speedometer in the 1999 & 2000 F-150's, but not in the 2001's with the kind of consistency that we like, but that is currently in R&D, and will be available in a few months. These F-150's have more different factory codes than any other vehicle, so they always take more time.

We just got the 2001 Mustang's done for speedo recalibrations, and the F-150's are being worked on now, so it's just a matter of time. The R&D required in these F-150's is tremendous with all their different factory codes.

Cool, thanks for the reply.

By the time you guys have the codes worked out, I may have the cash to get the 4.10s put in.

Hi Danny,

I hear you!

I wish I had a bit more time right now, as we're going to do the same thing to one of our F-150's, throw in a set of 4.10's, and it's a 2001. I just don't have the time to do it right now & get down to Superchips to let them have the opportunity to do the R&D needed on the code in that truck, or we'd have it done already, for that code. (gee, I guess that's a little obvious, eh?)

Good luck on your 4.10 gear fund!

Dyno'd yet

Danny,

Back around Thanksgiving you started a thread about had anyone dyno'd a 5.4 with a superchip. I did (remember those disappointingly LOW numbers??) and you mentioned maybe taking your's in.

Did you ever do that, I searched, but didn't spot anything.

I'd be curious to hear and see how yours turned out. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do, I had thought that since my truck only had about 1600 miles on it total, I should add a few thousand before trying again. Mike T also offered to chat about the possibilities, I haven't taken him up on that yet either. Maybe over the holidays I'll give him a shout, or make another appointment. I'd like to go back to the same place, yet I'm wondering if I should go back to the same place if you know what I mean.

Greg O.
