So heres the problem, I went to remove the strategy tune on my truck and return to the factory tune due to cam phaisers making noise and I'm getting a error code. the tune has been removed and is unable to install my original factory tune, the vehicle will not start and sct is closed. I contacted the emergency number and followed their instructions but they have yet to reply... were gong on about 3 hrs now truck is a 08 f150 5.4 flex. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys -al

im getting code 1016. i have no communication with the pcm. ive tryed my snapon solous aswell. if i cant get this sct to work properly then ill be replacing the computer.. still no reply back from sct. the part that kills me the most is that the day before it was on the beach doing good! now its dead in my back yard

why did you try to remove the tune?

just a little bit of my weekend fun, I broke my radiator trying to install a cold air intake, also, the intake had some issues, that I had to get creative with and modify. Hopefully, I can fix my radiator.....

 

His cam phasers were making noise on the 3v version of the 5.4l. So he decided to take the tune off.

 

phaiser are going out, eather way the tune would have to be removed in order to re-tune the truck. I have a few things on order from summit.. melling hv pump going back with motorcraft chain, phaisers, tentioners and guides.. I'm debating on putting in a set of comp cams. anyone have any first hand experience with upgrading there cams on there trucks?
