I have a '04 f150 supercab w/ the 5.4. I am getting a new magnaflow exhaust put on in a few days and have a K&N cold air intake already and will be replacing the plugs shortly. I am wondering if i need to get a programmer with custom tunes or if i can take it somewhere to have 1 tune up done to it so it runs the best? if i can take it somewhere, what type of place am i looking for?

 

Our inTune or Trinity tuners come preloaded with tunes for the K&N CAI on your truck, and will wake it up nicely

 

You definitely need a tune with the 2004. They came from the factory with a near "lean" tune, and that intake can cause you to run lean. On top of that, you won't get much benefit from the intake witout a tune for it.

 

Bluejay is saying you need a programmer with custom tunes here, not just a tuneup. DiabloMike's suggestions will fill your needs fastest, but you could also investigate other programmers with custom tuning.
