Found gryphon
Found a used gryphon for sale and the man says its ready to plug and go. He said he rturned his truck back to stock and it has the tunes:tranny only, 87 towing, and 93 performance. What do I need to look for when I go check it out? How can I tell if it is not locked to his truck?
If it has custom tunes on it chances are it wont work on yours as the PCM HEX code will most likely be different. If they are canned tunes, it should work provided he actually 'un-married' the unit from his truck.
so it's an Edge Evo, not a PHP Gryphon

As Tarajerame plainly states, don't buy the programmer expecting a high MPG increase. Buy it for its functions and its convenience as it may never pay for itself with fuel economy savings.
I ran the Edge canned tunes for about 31,000 miles nearly all on Level 3 with the shift pressure bumped up, then ordered PHP custom tne. I put about 70,000 on the 2005 with the custom tune. Had about 33,000 on it before I added the Edge. So, with a total of 135,000, 101,000 with a tune, the truck was still going strong when I sold it. Never a problem other than the throttle body had to be cleaned at about 101,000.
