I have been reading for hours now and I think I have this right. The edge evolution does not have to be sent off to php to accept custom tunes. You can update the tuner to the latest software and canned tunes, making it a gryphon, by using the pegasus software available on their website.

For the Edge Evo CS and CTS software would be Fusion.

 

Yes, that is now the case, indeed. I just upgraded my old Evo to a Gryphon, and I have a couple of custom tunes on order.

Also, just to note, you don't HAVE to upgrade your old Evo to a Gryphon in order to run Bill's custom tunes. They have an option on the order page to order tunes for an Edge Evo.

I recommend upgrading, though, because the newer canned tunes are superior to the canned Edge tunes. At least in my case it was.
