My Edge Evolution programmer is acting up

I bought it this past summer from a local speed shop, it's the right one for my truck. It worked great on stage 3. I tried it on stage 1 transmission several months after purchaing it and the truck started acting funny, my wife ended up getting the service engine soon light. I took it off that setting and put it back on stage three and it worked just like before until yesterday. I again tried putting it on stage one, this time leaving from work the truck goes into limp mode. I set everything back to stock and the truck works fine. Before work this morning I programmed it to stage 3 and it goes to limp mode and as I get on the highway which it never did before, it always worked just fine on stage 3. Any ideas why this is happening?

Are you sure you're not just behind in basic maintenance?

Like cleaning the throttle body and maf along with changing the fuel filter.....

Throw the POS away and go with a SCT programmer. Edge is junk point blank, been there done than. Cost me a new transmission among several other parts on my truck that I bought brand new! Not to mention the three month down time of trouble shooting and waiting on the warranty to get it fixed.

A edge product, all it does it add horsepower to the motor and frees up some torque management, WITHOUT recalibrating the transmission. Just uping the line pressure causing clutches to slip in the tranny and now your trans is toast. As we all know trans and heat do NOT mix. Where the SCT not only adds horsepower to the motor and frees up torque management, it also adjusts line pressure in the trans and recalibrates it as well. Take it this way, rather suck a gallon of water through a straw (EDGE) or drink it from a glass (SCT)?

I ran the Edge canned tune level 3 for 31,000 miles and then got a custom PHP tune. Never a problem. Lots of members have thousands of trouble free miles with the Edge tunes.

I too wonder about the basic maintenance of the engine. If that is up to date, have the Edge programs been updated?

Are you running a stock intake or a CAI? The Edge Evolution is a canned tuning device like mentioned above. It is not tuned for a CAI.

Oh there is plenty of people that don't have a problem with edge programmers. There is also people who do have troubles and as far as PHP goes they can fall off the face of the earth for all I care. Their whole operation from tuning to customer service stinks. Yes I had a gryphon, been there done that. Got educated and wish others will do the same with Edge and their products. They all stick just like bullydog, hyper tech, super chip, do research to me on their tuning ability and than we will talk! Yes they can "add" power, yet not safely or efficently.

Racer, I'm going to leave this post even though it's simply a rant without any factual data to back up your position. Sounds like nothing works for you - too bad!

Unless you have something constructive to add, it would be better if you didn't post here.

A simple rant? You want me to link where I asked for help and got nothing? Or go back in the past and record on video of what went wrong? Also why a $500 box costed me my trans? Also me paying my truck payment for two months without being able to drive it? Want my phone records from back than of where I made numerous attempts of calling Bill and Corey, yet getting no where?

I am not lair, if that is what you are implying there sir. Nothing works for me? No it is called doing your research, which I did at the. Simply put I did not do enough research! Many other people experienced Bill's tune not making our trucks driving correctly and at the time I did not see one of us get resolved. Applies not only to the F150's, but also to the diesel community as well.

I am warning the OP and others to run from edges canned junk crap and PHP. Probably will ban me, yet I am just spreading the word on the product and how I was treated, which is known as a review on the product and customer service reviews. I wish PHP the best and hope they have gotten all the bugs worked out.
