Gryphon Error Code

So I returned my truck back to stock b/c my gryphon has been acting up.
Fast forward to about a week after and I try to reload the custom tunes.
Everytime I get:
"Error code: F1
This vehicle calibration is not yet supported. Check for updates, and call tech support if your version is current."

Any ideas whats wrong?

I am by no means an expert, and should probably stay out of it, but did you by chance do as it asked?...... check for updates? Is your version current? Seems like a logical place to start. Unless updating would cause you to lose the custom tunes.... hmmm. I'm sure those who know will pipe in soon, but this bit of info might make them be able to help you easier.

I don't have the first idea where the cord for the tuner is. So, I'm hoping it's something I can fix without hooking it up to a computer.
I just don't see why it wouldn't work if it already worked and I changed nothing from the time I returned to stock then when I went to reload.

It might also help if you posted exactly which tuner you have. There should be a model # on it somewhere. The more info you can give these guys, the better they can help you.

Bad cables is a known issue with the 97-03 model Edge! As said, do NOT attempt any more programming or you may brick the PCM, requiring a tow to a dealer for a reflash.

But, you said it "was acting up"!!! Can you be more specific? The cord for the PC is a common one you can buy for a couple dollars at most any place that sells electronics (like Walmart even). It's the same kind of USB cord that you use to connect most cameras.

Well, called PHP, was told the cord is bad and that I have to call Edge if I want a new one. Called Edge and they said that the error code is not correct for the cord to be bad. Tech said that the error message for a bad cord usually reads "cannot connect to bridge" or somewhere around that.

So now that leaves me with no idea whats wrong with this thing.

Are these cords under some type of warranty, or am I going to have to shell out money for a new cord?

Jeez .....getting the run around.....if you want it to be right shell out the money for a new cord....that way you wont have your pcm bricked.........

Btw....the guy you talked at edge doesn't know anything....the error you have is one that points to the cable...

Yea, always fun getting the run around

So called edge back, asking about possible warranty and cord info, and they wanted my serial number from the unit. I wasn't near my truck, so I'm gonna have to call them back Monday since they're closed for weekends.

Question though: Will the serial number on the unit be the same since it was modified by PHP? Or do they slap their own serial numbers on their units?

I can't answer the question about serial numbers, but I know that custom tuning by PHP does not void the warranty.

That's good. I think I'm probably past the warranty window though.
Should of followed through when I first posted problems with the unit/cord, instead of putting it off. (insert slamming book into head smiley)

I think, due to the known problem with the cord, it will be replaced free anyway.

Are you certain on this? I called Edge again today. Was told that the warranty is void if the sticker from Edge that has the serial number is missing, then the warranty is void. I have no such sticker on my unit. Due to that he said the only way to check which unit I have is to send it in, then they can look at it and see. Then price quoted me $90 for a new cord.
