Question ECU code location?

Can't find one on the pass side door jam. There are 2 stickers on the drivers side door tho. One is the blue and white Manuf sticker w/ the recommended tire press and vehicle weight. The other sticker has the stock #.

Can anyone tell me where else I can locate my vehicles ECU code?
btw- this is for a 2000 Expedition.

Thanks,
ronb.

Can't be sure on the Expy...but give this a try anyway: Under the passenger side dash, mounted vertically against the fender/firewall, you should see the ECU itself (silver, say about 5"-6" x 8"-9"). Use a flashlight and you should see a black plastic cap facing you with the ECU code stamped on it

Worth a try ... and no tools needed...

Hi Ron B,

OK, just to double-check where you should look first, go to the passenger side of the vehicle and open the front passenger door. Then look in the *front* part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges, and there you should see that code sticker with 3 letters followed by 1 number. It won't be on the rear of the door frame, like that informaiton you found over on the Driver's side, it's on the other end, in between the door hinges.

OK, if you don't find it there, then you can just go to the computer itself, which is located to the right of the dash assembly and just above the passenger's kick-panel. As Murfster mentioned, it's basically an aluminum "box", rectangular in shape, and it will have a black pressure clip holding the computer against it's mounting bracket/plate. If you will remove that black pressure clip, and then look on the back of the computer where that clip was covering up, there you will find yet another code sticker. Every once in awhile, you can get lucky and as Murfster mentioned, not have to remove that black clip to see the code sticker, but usually you do, as they normally put it right over top of the rear code sticker. That's OK, that clip is eay to spread and pull off and then replace.

Good luck, & do let us know if yo need further assistance finding your code!

Hey Thanks Guys!
Looked under the dash and got the code.

Next question is for Mike...I just placed an order using the link from your sig, however when I filled in my cc info, the amount charged was $0. That isn't normal is it?

Thanks,
Ron Blakely.

Hi Ron,

Sorry about that!

That happened because you did not enter any quantity, (the default value is 0) and just clicked on "add", so the system doesn't know if you want 1, 5, the single-program Superchip, the Flip Chip, or what, thus no price. To make sure we get you exaclty what you want, we'll need to speak with you about that to finalize your order, privately.

To that end, we have left you a voicemail at the number you listed on that order, & look forward to speaking with you soon!
