Troy, I posted over on the PHP site hoping that we can find a solution to this.

When you plugged the unit in did it read the hex code and run you thru 1 or 2 disclaimer screens?

If you can't resolve this problem, I'll make things good with this deal.

Sometimes during the FIRST programming session its a good idea NOT to open custom options to change gear ratios or tire sizes.....that's what its sounds like happened...the other thing is you might want to check your battery...clean your tb....clean your maf.....

i think u miss understood me.. i didnt go into the custon setting all i wanted to do was to put the level 2 canned tune into use and it was doing its thing and that fail message came up... the truck is new to me and i do not no much history on it

the battery is fine as i drive the truck daily... the tb and maf could probly use a cleaning but i cant see on how that made it trip that code

My crystal ball is broke and that's one thing you should have addressed when you started your first post....btw you forgot your engine size.....

And as far as your battery goes.....Haha....you've got to know the battery manufactures these days.....most of the batteries on the market can give out at any time without warning.....don't assume your battery is fine cause you drive it everyday....programming sessions can cause marginal batteries to show their true colors....

Read the stickys at the top of the forum.....especially the ones involving the Gryphon...

He's just pointing out that in the first tuning session it's sometimes a good idea to just go with the canned tune before taking the next step and screwing around with things.

Hey, 88racing is thinking a little further outside the box that you or I are considering. He knows far more about these things and can offer up possible solutions to this problem and others.

Yes he does.

Did you have any electronics on during the tune change? I've heard that if you have a simple thing on like the dome light, that the programmer won't get the full amount of battery to carry through with the tune change. I always sit in my truck with the door closed, all lights off, radio off, fan off and just don't touch anything until the tune is done just to make sure.

I doubt that, kobra - It also looks to me like the previous owner is talking to you in this thread and seems more than willing to help you resolve the issue.

Now, it is quite possible that a file in the programmer is corrupt. You may be able to correct the problem if you download and install Pegasus from PHP's website. Once you have Pegasus running on your PC, plug the Gryphon in. Pegasus should recognize the Gryphon and report that it is "connected". The Gryphon's screen should change from red to green.

Then, select [Updates]->[Gryphon Update Manager]. If Pegasus detects anything amiss with the Gryphon, it will probably show you firmware and calibration updates you can apply. If it does, apply them. Then, try the Gryphon in your truck again.

If it still doesn't work, you'll have to talk to Bill.

ok well i tryed to update it and it did (firmware and calibration updates same time)

i was promted to unplug it and plug it back in.. and i did

when i pluged it back in i got a warning that said "device must be restarted...unable to locate valid calibration hex info..

then it tells me to reboot it by unpluging it and pressing menu and pluggin back in

i did this and it did reboot and went to the warning screen

then it tells me to unplug it and plug it back in and to press ok to restart the update process... but when i press ok after doin so it says the gryphon is not found (and the gryphon screen is green)

wtf did i do?!
